The Importance of Defining Your Goals for Effective Advertising

When people ask us if a particular strategy will work, we find it easy to answer with a “yes” but then we ask them if it’s the most effective use of their resources. The follow-up question is usually, “what is the best use of my resources then?” Our response remains consistent because we believe the most honest way to answer that question is by asking, “How do you plan to measure success?”

A mentor to our managing director, Gabriel Barnes, once explained that everyone wants to achieve the same three things: make money, establish a name, and make a difference. However, what sets us apart is how we prioritize these three objectives. While there isn’t a right or wrong way to prioritize them, it can significantly impact your advertising strategy.

To determine the highest and best use of your ad budget, you need to be honest with yourself and answer one question: What is it that you want to achieve the most – make money, establish a name, or make a difference?
